So perfect if you want to meet other travellers. (But not the best option if you are looking for a quiet place) Staff can book any activity. Includes free use of GoPro and bike. In the winter, you can also rent skis and snowboards.

Large wooden beds with thick mattresses and privacy curtains. So you get a good night sleep. There is also a storage cabinet under the bed to keep your belongings safe.

  1. The Flaming Kiwi Backpackers

This cozy inn feels like home, with 3 kitchens and a BBQ so you can cook your own meals. Includes free bikes and Frisbee. (So you can play Frisbee golf at the Queenstown Garden Golf Course next door.) Free coffee in the common area and books, games and DVDs for when you need to relax.

Some rooms have private bathrooms. While some rooms have shared bathrooms. The bed in the dormitory was wooden. Each bed has a curtain. There is a reading light and power outlet for charging electronic devices. The locker under each bed has multiple mattresses and electrical outlets so you can charge your electronic devices while they are stored away.

Located just a few blocks from bustling Camp Street, all dorm beds at Haka Lodge are made of wood and include curtains, reading lights, (small) lockers and electrical outlets.

The hostel has a large common room and a great collection of DVDs for when you need to relax. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is always free coffee, tea and cold filtered water.

  1. Southern Laughter Backpacker

South Hanseatic is within walking distance of Queenstown city centre. There are plenty of special features like hot tubs where you can relax after a busy day. The hostel also has a lively common room with a large flat screen TV. Laundry area and barbecue area in good weather. There is also free soup at dinner every evening. This will not only save you money. It’s also a great way to meet other travellers.

The dorms are spacious with decent mattresses. But there were no ordinary beds (cheap iron beds) and curtains.

  1. Black Sheep Backpackers

This fun hostel has pod bunk beds. There are privacy curtains and electrical outlets and there is a hot tub and sauna. This is perfect if you are in Queenstown for skiing or snowboarding in the winter. And the fireplace in the living room makes it extra cozy as you relax with a book. Plus free Frisbee and a free communal dinner every Wednesday.

The dorms are not very spacious and the bathrooms are quite small, but the wooden bunk beds are quite comfortable and have a privacy curtain. reading lights and power outlets
